Funeral set for Haitian priest

MIAMI (AP) -- Funeral arrangements have been made in Miami for the Rev. Gerard Jean-Juste, a Haitian priest who fought for immigrant rights.
A viewing and wake are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at the Notre Dame D'Haiti Catholic Center. An interfaith memorial service is also planned.
Jean-Juste's funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the same location. He died last week at a Miami area hospital at the age of 62.
Jean-Juste founded the Haitian Refugee Center in Miami in the late 1970s. He later returned to Haiti and spoke out against a coup that forced then-president Jean-Bertrand Aristide from office. He was arrested in 2005 on what international human rights groups called politically motivated charges. All charges against him were later dropped.
