NB lanes on Overseas Highway to close for 2 wks

FLORIDA CITY, Fla. (AP) -- State transportation authorities say the main road from Key Largo to Florida City will be closed in the northbound lanes for two weeks due to construction.

The northbound lane of U.S. 1 -- also known as the Overseas Highway -- will be closed between Mile Marker 126 in Florida City to Mile Marker 106 in Key Largo, beginning Thursday. The closure will be in effect until July 2.

Northbound traffic will be detoured to Card Sound Road. Officials say tolls on Card Sound Road will be lifted during the detour.
