MIAMI (AP) -- Five members of South Florida's congressional delegation will travel to Haiti to discuss hurricane preparation, immigration policy and security issues with Haitian President Rene Preval.

Representatives Kendrick Meek, Mario Diaz-Balart, Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Debbie Wasserman Schultz will leave from Miami for Haiti on Monday. Temporary Protected Status for Haitians will also be one of the many topics discussed with Haitian government officials.

The Florida lawmakers will be in Haiti for one day and return Monday night.

The group hopes to bring recommendations on U.S.-Haiti policy back to Congress.
