Mother pleads for return of stolen wedding tape
OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida mother is asking whoever broke into her truck and stole a videotape of her son's wedding to come forward.
Someone broke into Susan Sciacca's truck Thursday and stole her video camera, which had a tape with footage of her son's recent wedding on it. She said the family could not afford to hire a professional videographer, so she had a family member record the wedding on that video.
The truck was parked in a lot near West Oakland Boulevard and 21st Avenue in Oakland Park, near where she works. "This was over here. Here's where my camcorder was, hidden underneath my white sweater," said Sciacca.
All she wants is the tape inside the camera. The victim's son, who is in the United States Military, is being deployed to Afghanistan. "I started crying as soon as I saw the camera was gone," she said.
Sciacca is asking whoever stole her camera to just return the tape, no questions asked. She said she would leave her truck bed open in the same spot where she parked the vehicle when someone broke into it. "I'm parked here everyday because of work. I just wish that they would throw the video tape in the back of the truck," she said.
If you have any information on the tape's whereabouts, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous.
