Man dies after receiving shock from power line

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (WSVN) -- A man lost his life after he was electrocuted Sunday morning.

According to authorities, Thanhkim Giang, 43, died of an electric shock while knocking mangoes off a tree with an aluminum pole. The pole hit a high voltage power line near Northeast 47th Court and Seventh Avenue.

His wife tried to save his life by pushing him over, but was also shocked in the process.

Oakland Park Fire Rescue transported them both to Holy Cross Hospital where doctors later pronounced Giang dead.
