Woman, 54, hit by stray bullet at party

LAUDERHILL, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say a woman sitting outside at a Fourth of July party in South Florida was hit by a stray bullet.

Lauderhill Fire Rescue spokesman Jeff Levy says the 54-year-old woman was taken to a Fort Lauderdale hospital in stable condition after the incident.

Levy says other partygoers said they didn't hear any gunshots and said no one had fired a weapon at the gathering.
