Home video shows vandal shooting at cars

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are looking for a vandal captured on surveillance video shooting out car windows in a South Florida neighborhood.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. in Westchester. Surveillance video from a homeowner, who's car became a target, captured the gunman standing up in the sunroof of a sports utility vehicle. The man fires, what appears to be a rifle, at numerous vehicles, blowing out windows and mirrors and damaging doors. "One was coming out of the moon roof, aiming with a rifle or some type of BB gun at the cars. Whatever they could shoot at," said the homeowner.

Felix Cruz's car was also shot at. "Suppose I had been outside with my kids and they had shot, missed one of the cars and hit one of the kids," he said.

Down the street even more cars were vandalized. "In my humble opinion this is terrorism," said a neighbor.

On Tuesday, more than 20 vehicles were targeted in Hialeah and Miami Springs. Those cars also had their mirrors and windows blown out.

Police are now trying to figure out if there is a connection between the shootings in Westchester and Hialeah.

If you have any information on either of these incidents, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
