Teenager drowns at park

HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A teenager is dead after a swimming tragedy at a South Florida park Monday afternoon.

A 17-year-old male was swimming from one floating dock to another at Amelia Earhart Park located at East 65th Street and Fourth Avenue when he went under water.

His friends tried unsuccessfully to rescue him until Miami-Dade and Hialeah rescue crews arrived.

The teen and his friends were playing in a "no swim zone."
