Man arrested for deadly hit and run crash

MIRAMAR, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have arrested a South Florida man who they said is accused in a deadly hit and run crash.

Police charged 31-year-old Robert Jones with DUI-manslaughter. He is being held on $80,000 bond.

Police said Jones was driving his stepdaughter to school while drunk when he hit and killed a motorcyclist near the intersection of Pembroke Road and Island Drive Tuesday.

He fled the scene with his stepdaughter, but police soon caught up with him. He had a blood alcohol level nearly three times higher than the legal limit.
