1 killed, 1 stabbed in seperate incidents in WPB

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say one person was fatally shot and another was stabbed in separate incidents in West Palm Beach.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said a person was shot and killed late Tuesday night after tangling with a man on the streets near Mangonia Park, north of downtown. Deputies patrolling the area heard what they thought were gunshots. They arrived to find a man on the ground who eventually died.

In a separate incident, authorities say a man attempting to break into a homeowner's car was stabbed when the homeowner confronted him early Wednesday morning. The suspect was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery.

The victims' names have not been released.
