WSVN-TV Announces More News at the News Station
MIAMI -- WSVN-TV, the ground-breaking Fox affiliate in Miami, announces the addition of two weekend late night newscasts. 7 News will debut 30-minute newscasts on Saturday and Sunday at 11pm, beginning September 26, 2009. With this news expansion, WSVN will now produce more than 57 hours of live news and local programming each week, more than any other local television station in the country.
"WSVN has always been committed to news and providing the most comprehensive coverage to South Florida viewers," said Robert Leider, Executive Vice-President and General Manager of WSVN. "While other stations across the country are cutting back, 7 News continues to be at the forefront of innovation."
The weekend edition of 7 News at 11 will be anchored by Reed Cowan and Robbin Simmons. On Sundays, 7 News at 11pm will be immediately followed by Sports Extra at 11:30pm. Sports Extra is anchored by 7 sports anchor Steve Shapiro and features high-profile sports agent Drew Rosenhaus. The 30-minute sports show wraps up and analyzes the weekend's biggest games.
When South Florida wants news, now more than ever, it's clear 7 News is the real news leader.
