FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- A Broward County sheriff's deputy has been arrested for alleged burglary, armed extortion and drug possession.
Thirty-four-year-old Manuel Silva is a nine-year department veteran. The sheriff's office wouldn't immediately provide details about the Friday arrest, including whether Silva allegedly committed any crimes on-duty.
The drug charges include possession of oxycodone and other prescription drugs not written for Silva.
The deputy was being held without bond Sunday on the burglary charges.
