NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- With the help of Habitat For Humanity of Greater Miami, a deserving family finally received the keys to their dream home.

Winn Dixie supermarkets and cereal giant Kellogg's funded the five-month-long construction of Nancy Bonise's $50,000 three-bedroom, one-bathroom Liberty City home. "I just want to thank them, sincerely," she said. "I am grateful, and I feel that I am truly blessed."

The proud new homeowner helped build her home, dedicating the effort to her two sons. "This is for them," said the overwhelmed mother. "I was always thinking of them. I always wanted them to have a place that, say if I pass away, they can call their home."

Young Kyenan adjusted quickly to his new digs. "I like the bicycle, the television, the toys, everything," said the boy.

A dedication ceremony at the residence Wednesday revealed a food-filled kitchen courtesy of the project's sponsors, along with some extras. "Your neighborhood Winn Dixie would also like to present you with a brand new washer and dryer, as well as $300 in gift cards," James Morris, a representative of the food retailer, said to a surprised Bonise.

A portion of the profits from every two Kellogg's items purchased at Winn Dixie stores went towards the project. "Everybody is struggling," said Morris. "To give somebody a leg up like that, [knowing] they fully appreciate it, would [make me] happy to do this many times over."

Habitat For Humanity of Miami's Michelle Marcos championed the collaboration. "It's such a blessing to be a blessing, to bring this kind of happiness," she said. "It's not just Habitat that does it, it's all the people that Habitat brings together."
