BAY HARBOR ISLANDS, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are investigating what exactly lead to a wild wreck caught on camera in a quiet South Florida neighborhood early Thursday morning.

Surveillance cameras rolled in the parking lot off of 99th Street and and West Bay Harbor Drive, at around 4 a.m. Thursday. A small car could be seen plowing into the back of a parked Landrover, lifting it momentarily off the ground and causing collateral damage to another sport utility vehicle parked next to it.

Authorities still aren't sure exactly what caused this unbelievable crash, but, they are saying, it's a good thing no one was hurt. Marc Eiglarsh, the driver's attorney said his client's vehicle had a mechanical failure. "He was involved in a traffic accident last night. Officers, just as a precaution, had him do a battery of roadside exercises that he did perfectly, and he was issued a citation," Eiglarsh said.

Eiglarsh is representing a fellow attorney, James Robert Mann. Eiglarsh said Mann was coming home at 4 in the morning, when his brakes failed.

The loud boom from the collision was a harsh wake up call for the neighborhood. "Absolutely no fun being woken up at 4:30 in the morning to tell you somebody plowed into your car," said a man.

Bay Harbor Islands Police did not want to come on camera to speak about this incident, as they have yet to complete their report. They expect to have that report completed sometime Friday.
