NEAR PORT EVERGLADES, Fla. (WSVN) -- A boat nearly sank after taking on water Wednesday.
Around 5:30 p.m., the United States Coast Guard responded to a boat taking on water. According to USCG, the boaters on the 37-foot vessel were rescued, while a commercial salvage boat assisted with pumping the water out.
Commercial salvage company Towboat U.S. said there was a leak in the shaft on the trawler. The boat was towed to an area marina and put on a lift for inspection.
The boat's passengers were brought back to shore uninjured.
