Police release computer generated image of suspected rapist

COCONUT GROVE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police want you to take a good look at this computer-generated image, which they are calling the face of a rapist.

City of Miami Police said the man depicted in the image ambushed then sexually assaulted a young woman as she walked to her home early Saturday morning. Police said he also robbed her at gunpoint before taking off.

The attack occurred inside an apartment complex on the 3200 block of Virginia Street at about 5:20 in the morning. Investigators think the attacker crawled on to the property through a broken fence, which has since been fixed. Police said he hid behind a covered ATV, and jumped the woman after she closed the gate behind her.

Police generated an image of what their suspect may look like, which, although you can only clearly make out his yes, also shows a very distinct brown spot on the white cornea of his right eye. The man, believed to be in his late 20s, is described as a black male, standing approximately 5 feet 7 inches and weighing 160 pounds, with a medium build, last seen wearing all black with a black sully and his face covered.

Police said the 27-year-old victim is so devastated she has packed her things to move.

June Duval, a neighbor living in an apartment that faces the scene, heard something that leads her to believe may have been the attack. "And all at once, I heard an "ahh," and then I didn't hear anything more," she said. "I thought it was probably somebody's boyfriend surprising her, playing boo on Halloween."

Article Image 2Police said the attacker put a gun to the victim's head, demanded her purse and proceeded to rape her. He then fled with her purse. Police have also released a photo of a bag like the one taken from the victim. Police want anyone who may see this purse, to call them, as well.

If you have any information on this attack, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
