Gov. Crist fills empty school board member seat in Broward
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Governor Charlie Crist's pick to replace an embattled school board member is now on board.
Attorney Kevin Tynan was sworn-in at a ceremony in Fort Lauderdale Tuesday. The former chairman of the Republican party in Broward, also serves on the Board of Commissioners for South Broward hospitals.
Tynan thanked his supporters and said he's ready to get to work. "If good people don't step forward to accept responsibility in trying times, who will? I believe that I am one of those people, and I hope you believe so too," said Broward County School Board Member, Kevin P. Tynan.
Tynan's seat was left open by Beverly Gallagher who was arrested and is facing bribery and extortion charges. Gallagher has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
