Construction company fined after deadly crane collapse

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A construction company is being fined thousands of dollars after a crane killed a worker.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has charged a Pompano Beach construction company with an $18,000 fine, after 43-year-old Albert Phillips died in the crane collapse at Lighthouse Point back in June.

Authorities said the company did not properly train the crane operator, and the equipment was not properly maintained.
