Police investigate double shooting
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide at a South Florida residence.
The shooting occurred Thursday night at 10:10 at the apartment complex Villa Rustica at 190th Street and Northwest 57th Avenue. Police arrived on scene after receiving a distress call regarding someone with a gunshot wound.
According to police, the estranged couple were engaged in a heated argument at the residence, and it ended in gunfire. The man was pronounced dead on the scene, and the woman later died at an area hospital.
Relatives are agonizing over what happened and neighbors are in shock. "I often see them together. I know they both are correction officers. They seem to be a nice couple to me," said a neighbor. "I don't know what could've been so bad where that could happen."
Police are still investigating what led up to this incident.
