Two teens accused of beating homeless man out on bond
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Two teens accused of beating a homeless man and recording the incident and posting it on YouTube are out on bond.
William Sleight, 19, and Nicholas Bakum, 19, were released from a Broward County jail Saturday night while their two other alleged accomplices remain behind bars.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said they are two of the four men who took part in a YouTube video titled "Beating up a Crackhead."
"If that's the direction we're going in, where people are being targeted not necessarily for who they are, but for what they are, we have to put our foot down and say we're not going to allow that," Sheriff Al Lamberti said.
According to police, Sleight recorded the video in July of 2008. Deputies found out about the video through an anonymous tip to CrimeStoppers.
Brandon Edwards and Bradley Wunderlich, 21, remain behind bars for taunting, smacking and dragging 54-year-old James Cunningham.
All four have been charged with kidnapping and battery.
