MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida teacher accused of molesting a former student has been released from jail after he posted bond early Wednesday morning.

According to police, Frank Galatas molested a 14-year-old boy after befriending the victim's mother. Galatas was the victim's teacher two years ago at another school.

Miami-Dade Police said, as a single mother, the victim's mother wanted Galatas to be a role model to her son. "He called upon the victim's mother, who was a friend of his, and stayed the evening," said Miami-Dade Police detective Jeffery Giordano. "There's a possibility that there might be other victims."

Police charged Galatas with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery.

The offender currently works as a teacher at Miami Southridge Senior High School. Students who attend the school are shocked by the allegations. "I was like, 'Wow,' Mr. Galatas," said Cliff Innocent.

Police think there may be other victims out there. If you or anyone you know may be a victim of the above named offender, you may call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
