Suspended commissioner to announce decision to run again
MIAMI (WSVN) -- Suspended Miami commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones is expected to make a big announcement Thursday evening.
Spence-Jones, who Florida Governor Charlie Crist suspended after the state attorney accused her of stealing county grant money, will reportedly announce her plans to run in a special election ordered by the governor.
Under city law, Spence-Jones is eligible to run in January's special election for the seat she held before her suspension. It remains unknown if she actually plans to do so.
Her decision will be made public in an announcement scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday.
