Deadly head on collision kills one, injures 3 others

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A deadly head-on collision has claimed the life of a teenager and injured three others.
According to Pompano Beach Fire, a 42-year-old mother was traveling in a Ford Explorer with her two sons, ages 8 and 14, when they struck an Acura driven by an 17-year-old male, near Northwest Fourth Street and Powerline Road Saturday.
Rescue crews rushed both drivers to Broward General Medical Center. The mother is in critical condition. The 17-year-old was pronounced dead.
The two children were also hospitalized but are expected to be OK.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
