Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center hand out Thanksgiving baskets

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- The Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center held its 17th annual in Basket Brigade Event.

Hundreds of volunteers pitched in to send Thanksgiving meals to families that need it the most on Sunday. "Right now, we've packed all the bags, and everyone who's making deliveries is coming through, and we're putting the number of deliveries they're making right in their car. They already have the addresses and contact information for the families and off they go," said CDTC coordinator Stephanie Clayton.

7's Julie Durda was there assembling baskets and handing them out to people who will deliver them.

More than a thousand families will benefit from the basket brigade.
