Davie Fire Stations Collecting Donations for Haiti
Davie Fire Rescue stations are collection sites for donations to Haiti. In the relief effort for Haiti, the Davie Firefighter Benevolent Association in conjunction with Town of Davie will accept donations at all Davie Fire Rescue stations from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday.
Items that can be dropped off are: water, nonperishable foods, rice, canned goods (with pull tops or manual can openers), first aid supplies, tents, flashlights, batteries, and diapers. Please contact the American Red Cross to donate clothing. Checks will also be accepted and can be made out to Davie Firefighter Benevolent Association. This 501 nonprofit organization will donate all proceeds to the Haiti relief effort.

New Theater partners with the Humanity Project to aid Haiti
The New Theatre of Coral Gables will raise funds throughout the run of its upcoming world premiere play, The Hour of the Tiger, to aid Haiti earthquake relief efforts. Beginning with the preview show on January 22, audience contributions will be requested by the actors following each performance.
The donations will be collected through New Theatre's partner in this effort, the Humanity Project, a South Florida-based 501c3 nonprofit group. The Humanity Project will ensure that every dollar is carefully accounted for and turned over to the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders or the Salvation Army - and that all money is dedicated solely to humanitarian relief for Haitians suffering in the earthquake's terrible aftermath.
New Theatre's The Hour of the Tiger will premiere on January 23 and run for 17 performances, through February 14.

Miami-Dade County Official Relief Efforts for Haiti
An information hub with computers and telephones has been established for the Haitian-American community at the Edison Little River Neighborhood Center located at 150 Northwest 79th Street in Little Haiti. The hub is disseminating information on relief and recovery efforts and counseling services for friends and families of victims. Hours of operation for the Center are 8 am to 6 pm but may be extended as need arises. Their phone number is 305-795-1552.
Miami-Dade County libraries, police, and fire stations have opened as collection sites for Haiti relief to help the victims of the catastrophic earthquake. At this time, officials are asking that donated items be limited to nonperishable food, water, gloves of all types, surgical masks and camping tents. At this time, Miami-Dade collections are being limited to only the specified items, not clothing or other goods.
Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union Haiti Relief Funds
Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union, a division of Space Coast Credit Union, is accepting monetary donations for the benefit of the victims of the recent earthquake that devastated Haiti. Donations are being accepted at all 20 of Eastern Financial's South Florida branches, all six of its branches in the Tampa Bay region and its two branches in the Jacksonville area. Members may also call the credit union's Member Service Center and transfer a donation from their savings or checking account to the fund.
Funds raised will be donated to The Haiti Relief and Development Effort established by the American Red Cross International Response Fund.
To further support the relief effort, Space Coast Credit Union will match donations made by members and employees up to $50,000.

Verizon Wireless will open a Haiti Relief Connection Center in Miami
This center is to help the local Haitian-American community connect with family and friends back in Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake there. Twenty Motorola DROID smartphones and other technology will be available for free to make wireless voice calls, text messages, check Facebook and Twitter, and access other internet and news sources. Verizon also is currently working to assist with emergency communication services in Haiti to improve relief efforts and communication to and from the country, and within the hard-hit nation.
The service is available and free to anyone trying to reach family and friends in Haiti. South Florida has the largest Haitian community in the United States. Verizon Wireless representatives will be on hand to assist.

State Attorney's Office Partners to Relief Effort
State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle has announced that her office is joining the effort to assist in providing relief to the thousands of people affected in the neighboring country of Haiti. A Haitian Relief Committee has been created in order to collect, store, and deliver needy goods and materials to the neighborhood Red Cross for distribution to the earthquake ravaged region.
Area businesses and individuals are encouraged to collect their own donations and contact the State Attorney's Office Community Outreach Division at 305-547-0724 in order to have these contributions picked up at their locations and delivered directly to the American Red Cross.
First Responders to the devastated region have indicated that items of immediate need include water, canned goods, over the counter medicine, and baby formulas.
The City of Miami Gardens Haiti relief
The City of Miami Gardens in collaboration with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Carol City is collecting donations in support of Haiti relief efforts.

Miami Mayor Regalado Aid Haiti Earthquake Victims
While emergency relief and rescue efforts are underway in Haiti, Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado today announced the city will collect emergency items at its Fire Stations and NET Offices.
Given the magnitude of the devastation, relief organizations have requested priority food items and encourage cash donations. The city will partner in this massive relief effort with Food for the Poor, World Vision, Red Cross, and Catholic Charities and Camillus House.
Emergency items for earthquake victims will be accepted at Miami Fire Stations and NET Offices during business hours from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Community Hospitals aid to Haiti
In partnership with the Archdiocese of Miami and the Notre Dame de Haiti Church, North Shore Medical Center, Hialeah Hospital and Palmetto General Hospital will be collecting funds (checks) from employees and community members who would like to donate to the victims of the recent earthquake.

Miami Beach Haiti Earthquake Relief Efforts
The City of Miami Beach is coordinating Haiti Earthquake Relief efforts alongside Miami-Dade County and other municipalities and local organizations. The City is encouraging residents and businesses that have inquired about how to participate, to make financial donations. The City is asking the public to make sure that they do their research before making donations to avoid becoming a victim of fraud.
The City has also coordinated several drop-off and collection sites for the public to donate non-perishable foods, water, surgical masks, camping tents, surgical and work gloves. These are the only goods that are being received at the Miami Beach collection sites, as requested by Miami-Dade County's Office of Emergency Management.
Miami Beach drop-off sites include: Fire Station #1, 1051 Jefferson Avenue; Fire Station #3, 5303 Collins Avenue; Fire Station #2, 2300 Pinetree Drive; Fire Station #4, 6860 Indian Creek Drive; the Miami Beach Police Department, 1100 Washington Avenue; Miami Beach City Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive, 4th Floor, City Manager's Office and Mayor & Commissioners Offices; and the Miami Beach Regional Library, 227 22 Street.
All fire station drop-off sites as well as the Miami Beach Police Department, are receiving goods 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. City Hall is open to receive goods Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the public library is open Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00p.m.
The City of Miami Beach has also coordinated efforts with several local, faith-based organizations. These organizations have pre-established donation shipments to Haiti. The following local organizations are collecting certain goods for shipment to Haiti: St. Johns Methodist Church, 4770 Pinetree Drive, and Jesus Es Rey, 1133 71 Street.

The Miami Heat and AmericanAirlines Arena Haiti Relief Drop Off
In recognition of the overwhelming support of the South Florida community, the Miami HEAT and AmericanAirlines Arena have announced today that they are extending their Haiti relief efforts through Friday, February 5. All concerned individuals can continue to donate bottled water, non-perishable canned goods, and medical supplies at the designated drop-off area located on the east side of the AmericanAirlines Arena (HEAT Blvd). Towels and clothing will no longer be accepted. Each person who makes a donation at the AmericanAirlines Arena drop-off location will receive a ticket voucher good for two tickets to select HEAT home games during the month of February*. Tickets are based upon availability, and each fan will receive one ticket voucher per drop-off while supplies last.
Starting January 25, the HEAT will accept donations from Monday - Friday with new drop-off hours. The new drop-off schedule is as follows:

South Floridians looking to make a monetary donation may do so at http://www.savehaitisaturday.com/, the relief effort under the direction of University of Miami Project Medishare - a program founded by Dr. Barth Green and Dr. Arthur Fournier that leads a group of doctors who provide free medical attention to the people of Haiti.
Project Medishare has also partnered with the HEAT and the AmericanAirlines Arena to distribute the donated items throughout the devastated parts of the country. As of Thursday, January 21, more than 65 pallets of relief items from the HEAT's drop-off location have landed in Haiti and are being distributed, with an additional 200 pallets waiting to be shipped thanks to the compassion and generosity of the South Florida community.
