Parents reunite with adopted Haitian kids

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Two Haitian orphans up for adoption are joining their new American families Tuesday morning.
"She's officially ours. She's our daughter, Yoldeen Lowenstein," said Susan Lowenstein with a huge smile on her face.
After six long years of paperwork and waiting, the Lowensteins are finally headed to Haiti to pick up their 7-year-old daughter and bring her home to South Florida. "I'm a little nervous, excited and I've been looking forward to this for so long," said Lowenstein.
Lowenstein and her husband packed up their private plane around 5:30 a.m. with clothing and goods for quake-ravaged Haiti. "We've got 500 to 600 pounds of food, medical supplies for Port-au-Prince to an orphanage that we support down there," said Jerry Lowenstein.
As the Lowensteins departed from Pompano Beach Airport, Mike Wilson arrived at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport with his newly adopted daughter in his arms. Five-year-old Tia survived the earthquake in Haiti. "To watch her face as she looks at this, I am ecstatic beyond belief," said Wilson. "Our American embassy in Haiti did an amazing job helping us process through that. They did a great, great thing, and we're forever indebted."
Wilson, like the Lowensteins, started the adoption process long before the earthquake in Haiti. They have left the FLL airport and are now headed home to Nashville, Tennessee.
The Lowensteins are expected to return to Pompano Beach later on Tuesday.
