Puppy dies after attack

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida dog owner has been left devastated after her puppy was killed by another dog.
Shyanne Kight took her 3-month-old French poodle to play Tuesday afternoon at Granels Dog Part in Northwest Miami-Dade when another dog attacked it. "We were running around and all of a sudden this big dog came, grabbed my little 3-month-old from the neck and shook her and killed her," said Kight.
The dog park has a fenced area for large dogs and another area for small dogs. Kight and her dog Fiona were in the small dogs section. "She was helpless. Because she's so small, she couldn't to anything," she said.
Witnesses said the dog that attacked Fiona was an overly playful Irish setter that should have been in the section with the larger dogs.
Kight was appalled with the other dog owner's reaction. "Grabbed his dog and left like noting happened. He didn't even say, 'I'm sorry' and didn't even apologize, nothing, and that hurt me the most," said Kight.
Kight called police and filed a police report but wished the dog owner would have done more. "He didn't even care. He has no heart, and my dog is dead. My dog was laying there dead on the table, bleeding from her nose her mouth. He didn't care," she said.
"She was a cut little dog. She was my heart. I loved her very much," added Kight.
Police fined the other dog owner, but it remains unknown if any other actions will be taken.
