WESTERN PALM BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Parts of a South Florida highway are closed Tuesday morning after a deadly, tractor trailer accident.

The collision happened Monday night at 10:30 on U.S.- 27, just south of the Palm Beach County line.

One of the drivers died on the scene.

One of the vehicles was transporting livestock, many of which were thrown into the street. "At this time we have several livestock running loose and several deceased animals on the roadway," said Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant Mark Wysocky. "We're trying to get a veterinarian out here to see if we can get some of the animals euthanized, if possible."

FHP has opened two lanes of traffic while they clean up the mess. The highway is expected to fully re-open later this morning.
