Teen claims she is victim of hate crime
COOPER CITY, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida girl is claiming she is the target of someone spreading hate on a popular social network to, and her father wants police to take action.
Danielle Siboni is 13. Tuesday, she discovered a photo of her and a friend on Facebook had been altered. Someone had blacked out her face and scrawled a Swastika over it. "I'm very angry right now," said Ilan Siboni, the teen's father. "We can't accept it. It's not acceptable, nobody.'"
The young teen, who is Jewish, is also upset over the incident. "I'm really, really angry. Like, this is like shocking," she said.
The pictures were posted on pages belonging to two boys who go to school with Siboni. Someone also defaced another picture of her, drawing horns on her head. However, it is the image of the Swastika that bothers her father the most. "It's the wrong thing to do, wrong thing to show, wrong thing to be into. I don't know what to say, I'm in shock."
Siboni's father has reported the incident to the Broward Sheriff's Office. However, at this point it is unclear what crime, if any, has been committed.
The pictures have since been removed from Facebook. "I want them to feel really bad for what they did because this is not right," said Siboni.
Siboni's father is now concerned about her safety. "I'm a big guy, but I'm frightened right now. If someone can put a sign on my daughter's face, the worst sign, what's going to happen tomorrow?" he questioned. "Listen, we live in a nice neighborhood, but people are crazy in this world."
