Pedestrian struck and killed by multiple vehicles

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A pedestrian has died after being involved in a multiple vehicle accident.
The incident occurred Sunday at 9 p.m., near Northwest 62nd Street and 22nd Avenue. According to Miami-Dade Police, a white mini-van was crossing the intersection when it simultaneously hit another car and a pedestrian, knocking the pedestrian into the path of an oncoming Miami-Dade County Transit bus. The victim died on the scene.
Luis Areaon Garcia said the driver of the white mini van was speeding and rear-ended him before it came to a crashing halt. "I was waiting for the red light at the intersection, and I felt a hit from behind, in the back of the car, and when I felt the hit another car passes me by the side at an extreme speed," he said in translation. "When I felt the crash, I took off my seat belt, I got down, and when I look at the corner, I saw when he hit the bus and stuff. I didn't know there was a person dead, and then I saw the dead person."
Investigators have arrested the driver of the van under suspicion of drunk driving. Police are now trying to identify the victim so they can notify next of kin.
