MIAMI (WSVN) -- Today former President Bill Clinton will appear at the University of Miami. University officials are warning commuters that with Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore in town to make appearances at the college, rush hour traffic will be heavier than normal.

Gore arrived in South Florida on Wednesday to make his first stop at UM's University Lecture Series. The event took place at 6:30 p.m. at the BankUnited Center, located across Ponce de Leon Boulevard from the University Metrorail station.

The recent Oscar winner for the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" will be joined by his former boss on Thursday, to deliver the Spring Convocation speech at 4 p.m., also at the BankUnited Center.

Both events are only open to ticket-holding UM students. Local residents should be prepared for traffic congestion.
