Two men arrested after robbing grandmother at gunpoint

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have two men in custody after they robbed a grandmother at gunpoint while she was with her three-year-old grandson.

Karen King and her grandson were in the parking lot of the Wachovia Bank located in the 1900 block of University Drive when they were approached by a man with a gun. The suspect pointed the gun at the little boy, then took off with King's purse and fled with another man in a white Acura. "I think he just wanted my purse," said King. "Holding a gun at a very young child is outrageous behavior, it's just uncalled for."

Police apprehended the pair of bandits shortly after they crashed into a house located off of Northwest 17th Street. "Our off-duty sergeant, as well as an off-duty civilian employee, followed the vehicle through a neighborhood during which time the suspect's vehicle lost control and struck a house," explained Joe McHugh of the Coral Springs Police.

The suspects were identified as Ishad R. Knight, 22, and Delmar Taylor Jr., 22 and both were charged with one count of armed robbery. They are being held at the Broward County Jail.
