DANIA BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A family is grieving the loss of a soldier and father of two, killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

First Sergeant Michael Curry was a career soldier and a father of two young boys who enlisted in the army after graduating from Hollywood Hills High School 20 years ago.

Curry's sister Keisha Robinson summed up the family's loss of a devoted soldier by saying, "There's no words that can express how hurt feels."

Curry and three other Americans were killed during a road-side bomb attack. "I'm proud that Michael was serving his country, and I hope that others will feel that way," said Joyce Curry.

Curry served in desert storm and was in the midst of his second tour in Afghanistan, when he was killed. "I hope that the people that are living around the world understand the overwhelming sacrifices that my brother made," said Jeff Green.

Niki Martin e-mailed her brother gospel song lyrics just before he left: "The storms of life will blow. They're sure to come and go. They meet me at a time when I'm calm and feeling fine."

Six generations of his family gathered to mourn his loss.
