Former commissioner asks for case to be dropped
MIRAMAR, Fla. (WSVN) -- A former Miramar city commissioner who has been suspended after a confrontation at a supermarket is asking for his case to be dropped.
City Commissioner Fitzroy Salesman was suspended by Governor Crist after being arrested and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon, last November.
His attorney is seeking to have the case tossed out claiming Salesman's actions were justified. "Mr. Salesman was defending himself, it was reasonable immune from prosecution," said Eric Schwartzreich, Salesman's Attorney.
Salesman is accused of pulling a gun on a customer at a Miramar Winn-Dixie. He claims the two were arguing when the man asked to take it outside.
