Man charged for filing false statement

HAULOVER BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida man is in trouble with the law.

Police arrested Willie Lawyer and charged him with filing a false statement.

Authorities said the 43-year-old made an emergency call Monday night, and claimed there had been a boat accident off Haulover Beach.

Florida Wildlife officers determining the whole thing was a hoax.
