1 person dead, 2 children injured in car crash

AVENTURA, Fla. (WSVN) -- One person has died and two children were seriously injured after a multi-car crash Monday night.

Police responded to the accident around 11 p.m. on Biscayne Boulevard, just south of Miami Gardens Drive.

Aventura Police said the driver of a 1990 Ford Thunderbird died on impact when it collided with a black Mercedes-Benz. A third car was also involved in the accident.

Rescue crews airlifted the two children, who were in the same car where the adult died, to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Their condition is not being released.

Police are not saying if the three are related and there is still no word on who caused the accident.
