Truck crashes into gas station; up in flames

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Authorities responded to a gas station that went up in flames Sunday.

A Hess gas station located at 2701 Davie Boulevard caught on fire after a truck lost control after being involved in a car accident. The truck then crashed into one of the gas pumps causing it to explode and erupt into flames, authorities said.

Witnesses said the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it sparked the fire. "The one that hit the gas station, he was trying to beat the light. He was trying to make the light. He was going like 90 miles an hour, and the car right over there, when the light turned green, the blue car, it turned on the green light. And then I saw the car going into the gas station real fast. Then I just saw the big explosion. I saw the kids running, everything. It was crazy," Sabrina Kimber said.

Rescue crews transported two people to Broward General Medical Center. According to authorities, one of the victims is in critical condition.
