Authorities search for computer thieves
LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) -- Officials have released surveillance footage of suspects pulling off a smash and dash at a graphics design firm.
According to authorities, the thieves targeted Piranha Graphics located at 4300 North University Drive early Thursday morning.
Authorities said the duo broke through a glass door to gain entry. After grabbing what they could the suspects fled in a getaway car.
The store's owner said the suspects stole more than $8000 in computers and equipment and his business will not be functional without them. "It's like stealing an oven from a baker we can't function without our computers and hard drives." Wissem Zarrouk said.
Zarrouk believes the criminals who broke into his store are heartless and have affected not only him, but his employees. "For whoever took these computers they are probably thinking, 'It's just a computer and I'm going to resell it,' but it's for us. You are putting five of our six families into unemployment," said Zarrouk.
If you have any information on the suspects, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
