LIMA, Ohio (AP) -- Police in Ohio say a car that drove into a crowded town square and injured dozens of people apparently was stopped in a nearby parking space before it accelerated.

Officers have said it appears a 63-year-old woman unintentionally drove into the crowd Friday in Lima (LY'-muh). The crash injured about 30 people. Some were pinned under the car until bystanders lifted it to free them.

Police Sgt. Nick Hart tells The Lima News it appears the car was stopped in a diagonal parking space before it hit the crowd.

Hart says police were working with a list of about 30 witnesses as more continued to come forward.

No charges have been filed, and authorities haven't released the driver's name. The investigation is expected to take several weeks.
