GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) -- Two Great Falls boys rescued a man who was struggling in the current of the Missouri River.

Daniel Chapman says he and a friend were wading in the river Sunday near Verde Park when he entered deep water and was pulled down by an undercurrent.

On the shore, Henry Vidal, his 14-year-old-son Jacob and 10-year-old J.T. Whitaker spotted the 20-year-old Chapman struggling. Henry Vidal told his son, "Go out and get them."

The Great Falls Tribune reports that Jacob and J.T. were wearing life vests and on stand-up paddle boards, which look like heavy surf boards that are propelled by a long paddle.

The boys pulled Chapman onto Vidal's board and took him to shore.

Chapman says he wouldn't have made it if not for them.
