NEW YORK (AP) -- The bomb squad is investigating a report of a suspicious device found on board a plane at Kennedy International Airport.

New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne said Delta Flight 126 bound for Madrid was evacuated shortly before scheduled takeoff at 7:30 p.m. Thursday after a U.S. Air Marshal on board noticed something that appeared to be a device with wiring. The bomb squad was called and is investigating the device.

It's not clear how many people were on the flight. A call to Delta was not immediately returned.
