OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Authorities have seized nearly 30 venomous snakes from a suburban Omaha home.
KMTV-TV in Omaha reports that a tip to the Nebraska Humane Society led owners to the home in Elkhorn. Inside, they found a bedroom filled with snake aquariums.
Workers from the Human Society and Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo say the collection included cobras, black mambas, vipers and 16 rattlesnakes.
The snake's reported owner, John Foss, told investigators that he's passionate about the slithering reptiles, and called the animals his pets. Authorities ticketed Foss for possessing the poisonous snakes, which is illegal in the city.
