Firefighters rescue 2 of 4 window washers in Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Firefighters have rescued two of four window washers reported stranded outside the 35th floor of a Las Vegas Strip high-rise hotel.
Clark County spokeswoman Stacey Welling says a firefighter descended from the roof of the 46-story Vdara (vid-AR-uh) Hotel and lowered one worker in a harness to the roof of a third-floor landing area.
NBC affiliate KSNV-TV in Las Vegas is showing firefighters rigging ropes to reach the others.
The National Weather Service reports temperatures are 104 degrees and winds are a moderate 10 mph at nearby McCarran International Airport.
Vdara is one of several hotels in MGM Resorts International's big CityCenter complex.
A hotel spokeswoman says a mechanical failure caused the wokers' lift to fail.
Clark County and Las Vegas firefighters were summoned a little before noon.
