Police ID gunman found dead in South Dakota salon

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Police have identified the gunman involved in an apparent murder-suicide in South Dakota.
Sioux Falls Police Sgt. Loren McManus says the man has been identified as 38-year-old Tyrone Leeon Smith of Sioux Falls.
Authorities discovered Smith's body shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday. He had been inside a Cost Cutters salon along a busy Sioux Fall street since about 1:30 p.m.
McManus says police believe Smith had earlier taken his two young children from a baby sitter's home.
Soon after, police got a report of a car accident in the salon parking lot and discovered a woman in her early 20s dead of a gunshot wound inside the vehicle. The woman has been identified as Cost Cutters employee Amanda Connors.
McManus says the children are with their mother.
