NYPD makes arrests in Staten Island convent fire
NEW YORK (AP) -- Police say they've made three arrests in connection with an arson at a New York City convent.
A nun was injured when she jumped from a second-floor window to escape the fire early Saturday on Staten Island.
Police say 19-year-old Vincent Calder was arrested Thursday on charges that include arson as a hate crime and burglary.
Two other 19-year-olds from Staten Island, Christopher Sasso and Diego Tuso, were arrested on charges of burglary, criminal mischief and trespassing.
Information on their attorneys was not immediately available.
The convent is on the grounds of St. Joseph Hill Academy, a 14-acre Catholic school for kindergarten through 12th grade.
