Man charged after body found in motor home freezer

Man charged after body found in motor home freezer

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (AP) -- A California man is being charged with murder after a woman's badly decomposed body was found in the freezer of his impounded motor home.

Eugene Butterfield is already in a Las Vegas jail on unrelated charges.

His daughter, 22-year-old Rebekah Butterfield, vanished from her California home about two years ago. Authorities in Orange County say they aren't sure if the body is hers because it's too decomposed to be identified without dental records or DNA testing.

The body was found Tuesday night when two impound-yard employees opened the motor home to inventory its contents and smelled a foul odor.
