Alaska terminal near volcano to resume moving oil

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Plans are under way to resume oil shipments at the terminal near Alaska's Mount Redoubt, now that the volcano has quieted.
Cook Inlet Pipeline Co. is hoping to load the first tanker at the Drift River Terminal in more than four months. Operations at the terminal were halted after Mount Redoubt began erupting in March and sent mudflows and ice chunks as big as cars past the facility.
The increased volcanic activity led to the shutdown of 10 Chevron-owned oil platforms in Cook Inlet.
The last major eruption at the volcano 100 miles southwest of Anchorage was in April.
