Bush Institute launches book on economic growth

DALLAS (AP) -- Former President George W. Bush says he wants his institute, which has released a book featuring experts weighing in on ways to grow the economy, to be an "action-oriented" place.
Bush spoke briefly Tuesday evening at an event in Dallas to launch the George W. Bush Institute's first book, "The 4 Percent Solution: Unleashing the Economic Growth America Needs."
The book focuses on ways for the U.S. to jumpstart the economy toward 4 percent gross domestic product growth.
Bush also told the crowd about a trip to Africa he and former first lady Laura Bush took earlier this month during which they helped to renovate a women's cancer screening center.
Economic growth is one of the Bush Institute's focal points, along with education, global health and freedom.
