West wants ballots and voting machines impounded

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Republican Congressman Allen West wants a judge to order the seizure of ballots and voting machines as he trails in his race against Democrat Patrick Murphy.
West filed motions Wednesday asking that a court order elections officials to impound voting materials.
The freshman tea party favorite's hopes appear to be dimming as Murphy clings to a 2,456-vote lead in the unofficial count, holding 50.4 percent of the vote.
Murphy's lead is outside the margin that would trigger a recount, which West says is needed.
He's alleging "disturbing irregularities" at the polls, including possible tabulation errors and voters being locked out.
