Seminoles will face Pitt, Cincinnati and Gators
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida State has perennial Atlantic Coast Conference powers North Carolina and Duke on a 31-game 2008-09 basketball schedule that also includes an early season visit from in-state rival Florida.
Among the 16 games on the schedule announced Tuesday by school officials are visits from non-conference opponents Pitt and Western Kentucky and ACC foes Maryland, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Miami, Clemson and Virginia Tech in addition to the Tar Heels and Blue Devils.
The Seminoles, who finished 19-15 last season, will play Cincinnati and Northwestern away from home.
Toney Douglas and Uche Echefu are the only returning starters for the Seminoles, who have gone 10 years without being invited to the NCAA postseason tournament.
